I can assure you Syracuse is better than you think. I realize we are not Georgia but we have improved greatly throughout the season. I guarantee you Florida State and Clemson would have hung 50 on Minnesota. The games we played against Penn State and Northwestern were with a QB who got benched after those games. I can’t explain the Georgia Tech disaster. Vegas seems to think this will be a close game and they are usually pretty accurate. Good luck!

Trust me i believe you that Cuse has improved the same could be said about minnesota. But I don’t think FSU and Clemson could both have hung 50 on Minny. The game is still a week away and win Vegas puts the line around 4 the line usually goes up from their if its 2 or 3 they usually drop the line, That’s just from what i have seen from through out the year… and believe me Vegas hasn’t been right about Minnesota since the FCS game. Minny was Favorited only once since the Mich game and that was against PSU and they were only favored by 1 ended up winning by 10. But trust me I do not bet on sports because it has the human factor so trusting Vegas is the last thing i would do. By the end of the week though Vegas will probably have the line around 7. Good luck to Cuse as well.

I feel like this is a terrible matchup for Syracuse. Minnesota might put the hurt on in this game :|

Minnesota is so underrated its unreal. Should be playing in either Buff Wild Wings or Gator Bowl. No matter, The Gophs will send a strong message. Final score: Gophers 49 Syracuse 2.

Your pass rush isn’t near the level of Iowa, early Mich, Wiscy, IU,or Sparty. Minnesota has one of the most underrated D’s in College. It’s crazy for you to think you could stop Cobb did you know the Number 1 Defense couldn’t stop Cobb. Hunt isn’t much of a runner when he barely runs for over 30 yards a game. I would be very shocked to see SU win this game. Minny should be in a much higher bowl game then texas against a team that barely got in. Minny should at least win by 10.

I didn’t say anything about what the team did rushing i said Cobb, Cobb isn’t the whole teams. Cobb ran for over 100 yards and 3.7 yards per carry. 2. cool story did you know minny has played more teams then just MSU? Iowa and Wiscy both have a far superior pass rush then SU. Now unless you 3 elite LB’s i don’t think you will be able to do much. 3. yeah hunt isn’t much of a runner I would take Both Nelson and Leidner over him as running QB’s both a 4.6 speed and Leidner is 6-5 230+. 4. And if you knew anything about football you would notice Minny actually has a higher SOS then SU M,innesota is 30th while Cuse is 55th.

I’m bitter that the Gophers are back in Houston. I think for an 8-4 team in the Big 10, they deserved better than this. Even had the Gophers beaten Wisconsin, I don’t think they would’ve got a better bowl. This team has to win 10 games minimum to even get 2nd tier bowl game invites. Maybe after a few more good years of 8-10 wins, they will be respected more. The Gophers will show up for this game though to prove a point. Gophers 52-17 winners. No disrespect intended to Syracuse, but they’re just not really a legitimate bowl team and Minnesota is going to be out to prove their point.

Let’s be realistic as a Gopher’s fan covering the last ten years and change. We had an amazing year with a top 20 defense and are being allowed to go to a bowl game that won’t even be close. Won’t it in truth be more fun to watch than struggling to take on any of the 20-25th ranked AP/BCS teams? I say booya, and Minnesota fans, enjoy it. Syracuse fans, thanks for the memories.

Wasn’t expecting to see Cuse go bowling with the loss of talent and step up in competition. This bowl game feels like a bonus. Respect to Minnesota they look a tough to beat football team, nothing coming easy in this one. .

Minnesota only lost by less then two TD’s (13) (11) to Wiscy and MSU BOTH should be ranked in the top 15. Lost by 16 to Iowa which has 3 top LB’s and two good RB’s. the only bad lose was to Mich in which we had the Back-up in and Claeys first ever game at head coach. The Gophers should take this one by at least 10. This Cuse teams looks like a lesser PSU squad.

Great matchup. Neither team has a very good pass offense. I think the Gophers D and running game are a bit better. I am glad that the Big 12 didn’t have enough qualifying teams because a rematch with Texas Tech would have been brutal. Gophers in a close one!

should be a good game, gophers played wisky tough and got 3 on sparty but their ooc games are pitiful. taking a page from the SUNJ’s [playbook I see. ground game vs ground game I like our chances.

agreed we got housed by NW and beat by penn state. different qb but Im not going to lean on that its a team game. I just think it will be a good match up the way our o line has been run blocking and playing good run defense on d. If the gophers decide to throw the ball all bets are off
